UPDATE 2006.12.31: I didn’t changed my plans: aKua will be ready-made (very quick) WHEN K2 goes final. I don’t know any arrival dates - and I asked without getting any answer Michael H. a while ago. I had to keep in mind that K2 is NOT a commercial project; so the guys behind are doing it in their sparetime. A year ago Michael wrote that K2 goes final or RC in end of 2005 (!). One year later still no final version. ummpphh. One day it will be there. Never loose hope. May the force be with you.

Well, Martin, if you like I can put you on the aKua mailing list. I gonna release aKua after K2 goes final, promise. But until then you should check out k2 , especially with the integration of SBM in the newer releases. I will reconstruct my own style (JPN2) to get the functionality of SBM (I don’t like widgets compared to SBM).

No, k2 is not really final. A “0.x” is not a final version. IF K2 goes 1.0 — without a beta in its name — than i call it a final release. and I really don’t know when it becomes final. They don’t answer questions regarding to a timeline. Last year Michael said K2 goes final in the end of 2005. now it’s the last quarter of 2006 and we still stick a beta. Since a week there is r190 via svn, and I still have seen some bugs with that. K2 forum is down since a week and all comments on getk2 are closed — i don’t know what’s going on there. Maybe it’s a good sign and they are on the last changes for a final. We’ll see. If you wanna be put on the mailing list for aKua please send me an e-mail, eg. w/ via the contact form.
